As we near the end of National Cheer Safety Month, let Dr. Ed Garrett’s advice on a holistic approach to safety inspire your cheer and STUNT seasons.
Dr. Ed Garrett, BMHC, CH-C, is the Chair of Undergraduate Psychology and Director of Sport Psychology at California Baptist University and works directly with the cheerleaders and STUNT athletes at CBU. After years of experience encouraging and guiding sports programs, he’s sharing his best approach to safety for you all to carry with you throughout the season.
Be mindful of the things you cannot control, focus on what you can control, and remember to BREATHE! When we rush, we make mistakes.
Let’s cheer for safety and continue to spread advice to keep cheerleaders and STUNT athletes SAFE!
