Our next departing senior is Megan Ong ‘25 from Las Vegas, Nevada. Written by Joost van Asperen:
“When Megan joined HVL as a freshman, she didn’t know anything about rowing. She had no plans to cox, she was focused on the Harvard Dance team and the Harvard Contemporary Collective, until a teammate across the hall convinced her to give it a shot. What followed was one of the best decisions this team could’ve hoped for.
She began in the 4V as a freshman, but quickly established herself as a contender for top boats. By senior year, she led the 2V to an undefeated season and a national championship.
I’ve been lucky enough to row with Megan in a lot of different lineups, and I’ve seen firsthand how much she brings to every boat she’s in. I’ve had the chance to see her develop as a coxswain and a person. She cares about her rowers.
