This year’s record-breaking renewal of the Arqana August Sale kicked off the European yearling sale season on the highest of notes, with eight horses selling for seven-figures as overall figures rose to new heights ☀️ The €266,576 average was up 22% on last year, representing an all-time record, as did the €57,847,000 turnover which was up 18%.
The clearance rate was 80% (up by 3%) while the median was up to €170,000, an increase of 21%.
A Night Of Thunder filly shattered a record set a decade ago as she sold for €3 million to Amo Racing, consigned by Ecurie des Monceaux out of their blue hen mare Prudenzia.
Godolphin led the way as the top buyer, purchasing eight lots for a total of €8,050,000. Meanwhile, Ecurie des Monceaux reigned once again as the most successful vendor with 36 lots sold for €17,455,000.
Meanwhile, BAAEED put in a pretty solid debut performance at the European yearling sale circuit with four lots selling for a total of €1.53 million and an average of €382,500....
