Honma has just 33 master craftsmen, called Meisho, who train for years before they’re trusted to sculpt clubs by hand. If they make one mistake during assembly, the club is ruined — thousands of dollars wasted. For Honma, the real magic is the process. They still carve driver models out of persimmon wood before moving to carbon and titanium, blending tradition with cutting-edge design. Unlike most brands, Honma makes every shaft in-house, using the same high-modulus carbon fiber found in pro racing bikes. Each shaft is painted, balanced, and tested by hand to the exact angle a golfer needs.
