Should You Use The Claw Grip? 🤔🏌️‍♂️ Here’s why you should and shouldn’t use the claw! Using the claw grip, your lead hand grips the putter just like normal. The difference comes with the trail hand. Instead of wrapping it around, you turn it underneath in a claw shape — thumb on the side, fingers pinching the grip Then you rock your shoulders, letting the lead hand control the stroke while the claw simply stabilises it. The big benefits? First, it takes the wrists out of the stroke. With the claw, your trail hand isn’t dominating, so there’s far less chance of flipping the putter at impact. That keeps your stroke controlled, even under pressure. It also brings face stability.
