Did you know there are only two permanent waterfalls in Milford Sound, but when it rains it looks like this 🍃 Most people don’t realise that the best time to go to Milford Sound is when it’s a wet and rainy day. People travel here and wait days for the rain to come before they explore the sound Here are some details for planning your trip (save this for later!) • Milford sound is a 4 hour drive from Queenstown in Nee Zealand’s South Island. You can drive down and stay nearby overnight but we drove up and down in one day. The drive, when it’s raining, is epic. There are waterfalls shooting down the cliffs for the last hour of driving before the sound. It’s just incredible! You can take a bus or coach from Queenstown if you don’t have wheels for your trip.
