What happens when Ralphie VI doesn't want to run anymore? It's time to call it quits.
The running of Ralphie during Colorado games is one of the most famous mascot traditions in college football. The bison can reach speeds up to 25 mph. The problem? Ralphie VI, nicknamed Ember, was just not into it anymore.
“Due to an indifference to running, typical of many mammals both four-legged and two-legged, it was determined that it was in Ember’s best interest, based on her disposition, to focus on relaxing strolls on the pasture, which is her favorite hobby,” Colorado said in a statement announcing the transition to Ralphie VII.
There is no timeline for the successor's debut.
