We all know what today is in NOLA—the anniversary of Hurricane Katrina. The effects of that historical disaster continue to impact the lives of children 20 years later. Poverty, loss of community, and PTSD are among the long-term effects.⁠ ⁠ New Orleans, we know what it's like to be called "refugee" and face hardship, deprivation, and persecution as we struggle. Let us please imagine what it's like to be a child facing those same things in their own homes.⁠ ⁠ Please don't leave our children stranded to face the aftermath of their storms alone.
