🌊✨ Meet Gold Award Girl Scout Madisyn Hamby, a changemaker who is turning the tide on ocean pollution. Her project shines a spotlight on nurdles, tiny microplastics with a big impact on marine life. To raise awareness, Madisyn built an interactive education program for Girl Scouts and students, led hands-on beach cleanups, and brought her message to classrooms at Oak Valley and Black Mountain Middle Schools. With support from the National Marine Mammal Foundation and Jace Tunnell of Nurdle Patrol, her work continues through a school science curriculum and her Girl Scout nurdle patch program.
