Finding beauty even in the burned sections of trail. 🧡 Truthfully, this trail has been far more burnt than I expected. The Dixie Fire burn section alone took us what felt like weeks to get through. And it seems like every couple of days, we pop out of a healthy, lush, green forest into another burn zone. But we’ve been lucky with the fires this year - we’ve only had to skip two small sections of trail, one for an old fire that hasn’t been cleaned up yet near Wrightwood, and one for an active fire near Etna. I expected it to be much worse. The burn zones are hot, exposed, dusty, and quite frankly, sad. But they’re here, regardless.
