Enter Shikari, Reading Festival 2025 REVIEW: In the current climate outside of these festival walls, politically and environmentally, an Enter Shikari set feels more necessary than ever before. The band are ingrained in the DNA of Reading at this point, but in their latest appearance on the Main Stage, their abrasive anthems of empathy and community feel even more indispensable than usual. The towering heft of ‘Juggernauts’ is still utter pit-fuel, but its message of not letting this world fall even deeper into disrepair, first uttered over 16 years ago, feels all the more terrifyingly real now. Whilst the disgust that bolsters ‘Anaesthetist’ is even more bile-drenched when viewed through the lens of aid being withheld across the world, and not just the subject of its privatisation at home. You can clearly see how heavy this reality is weighing on Rou Reynolds. Still, every time he looks out at the thousands assembled for their display, the doubt and worry melt away into quiet joy....
