Pale Waves, Reading Festival 2025 REVIEW: There’s something about a Pale Waves set that consistently gets the heart racing. The array of anthems the band now have at their disposal, from the lustful doubt of ‘There’s A Honey’ to the gooey-eyed adoration that holds up ‘Perfume’, captures the full spectrum of what it means to feel so strongly about someone else so conclusively. And Heather Baron-Gracie really feels it, the memories and lessons that have inspired such passion and pain spilling out with every utterance that echoes around the Chevron Stage. Though there is one song that serves as a unifier between all the differing emotions on show here, and it comes in the form of a cover of The Cranberries’ classic ‘Zombie’. A song that continues to feel increasingly relevant by the day, the response is one of collective euphoria, a moment where everyone lets out everything this classic means to them.
