Amtrak’s first NextGen Acela trains rolled through Philadelphia’s 30th Street Station on Thursday. The trains are faster and quieter than the previous models and will feature a special tilt system to be able to take curves at higher speeds. The trains have launched along the Northeast Corridor and will shuttle travelers between Boston and Washington D.C., also serving Baltimore, Wilmington, Delaware; Philly; New York City; New Haven, Connecticut and Providence, Rhode Island. Passenger amenities will include charging plugs at every seat, free high-speed Wifi, reading lights, more comfortable seating and bigger bathrooms.
