This is something Iāve been hesitant to share, because itās deeply personal. For the past five years, Iāve worked in international developmentāin nonprofits, government, and overseas in education. It was work that aligned with my values, work I believed in, and work that will always be part of me.
But with the Trump administration, so much of that came to an abrupt end. Entire programsāprograms that provided HIV medication, healthcare, education, and more were shut down overnight. Funding dried up, nonprofits closed, and the people most affected were those who depended on those resources. I lost my job, yes, but far more importantly, millions lost access to tools that kept them alive and thriving.
