The average family spends $660 a year for a child to play youth baseball or softball. Oftentimes, that cost falls on the shoulders of volunteer coaches—who dip into their own pockets to make sure every child has what they need. Every kid deserves the chance to play. And these coaches are doing everything they can to make that happen. Thanks to northwellhealth’s support of our Sandlot Stars program, that burden is lifted. This season, coaches from Bayside Little League and Pelham Bay say the donated gear—gloves, bats, helmets, and more—has inspired their teams to #RaiseHealth and brought new energy to the field.
