We’re finally home from the hospital this week, but it hasn’t been easy.
He’s now on oxygen and needs it at all times. Although he does take momentary breaks ~ especially for a picture or two. Sometimes, even the smallest steps leave him winded and gasping for air. It’s overwhelming and heartbreaking to watch, but somehow he keeps pressing forward.
Through it all, Elias’s hopeful spirit hasn’t budged. He refuses to speak of anything but life and healing, he simply won’t entertain the idea of not getting better. He smiles his joyful smile whenever he can and is determined to build as many lego sets as possible and be creative. His faith and courage inspire us daily, and we know it’s the Holy Spirit alive within him.
We’re praying constantly for a miracle, trusting that God’s timeline is perfect, and trying to soak in every moment together. Time is such a gift, especially in the comfort of our own home.
