I told my daughter I felt bad for having a solo routine while she was home from college … And she said: “Honestly, I’m just glad you have a life now.” I was like: “WAIT, WHAT?” I’ve always had a life! Work. Yoga. Friends. Way too many supplements. But I guess I’ve also been very available as a mom. Like… always home, always down to hang, always “just around if you need anything.” I thought I was being supportive. Turns out, she thought I was just… alone. And she felt kinda guilty about it. That hit me. Because I never meant to put that weight on her. But the truth is, when we center everything around our kids, they start to carry the invisible responsibility of our happiness. And they shouldn’t have to. So no, this isn’t a post about boundaries or becoming selfish. It’s just me realizing that having a life—a real, full, joyful, outside-of-your-kids life—is actually a gift to them. They don’t want to be your whole world. They just want to see that you have one. ____ #yogawithbriohn...
