Starting the week with a literal ass-kicking from yogawithbriohny - and holy crap, my glutes 🔥
For most of my yoga life, I’ve avoided hamstring and glute strengthening poses (along with core work) because they’re so, *so* hard for me, but now I know it’s because they’re my weakest muscles. Naturally as humans we try to stick with what feels easy for us, but that also means we avoid what we need most. Ever since I’ve been aware of that fact, I never teach a class without highlighting how to isometrically engage the right muscles in each pose, even if it makes it infinitely harder.. mostly as a reminder to myself but also since it’s transformed my entire practice I think it’s interesting to share!
Well I tried to teach a sequence that’s heavily inspired by today’s prescribed flow from
#21dayyogasweat and it was a definite killer (if you came to my 7pm vinyasa tonight at sohohousehongkong, please check back in with me tomorrow and let me know how you and your 🍑 are feeling)
