STA spent yesterday exploring the theme of Purpose and Belonging with a group of amazing speakers. Former NFL player Joe Ehrmann and college basketball standout Jody Redman spoke about becoming leaders, and alumni talked on finding purpose in their careers. Kevin Johnson and Ashley Lauren Fisher spoke on finding purpose after life-altering injuries, with Johnson (former STA teacher-coach) sharing about his half-brother actor Christopher Reeve, and Fisher telling her own story. Amir Lowery, former pro soccer player, discussed the importance of finding one’s own passions. Upper School students offered talks on belonging, and together, C and VI Formers and B and V Formers created a project of illustrated leaves, now hanging on a “tree” in the Lower School.
