I've said it before and I'll say it again: double breasted jackets and coats are better. I still love a single breasted jacket if it's cut well, but damn, DBs are just so good. I have three double breasted jackets, five suits, and two coats... With another suit in the works, be excited for that one. And... A lot of brands cut SBs poorly, but DBs face no such issue. They rarely have slim lapels, quarters are never a problem, and they still look great if they're a little shorter or longer than your ideal. And they just create the perfect... Not a Y shape, but... I think of it as a tree with a strong trunk, bigger at the shoulders, big peak lapels, straighten out at the waist. But I don't know, maybe that's post-hoc logic.
