For some, Labor Day marks the close of summer and a return to routine.
For others, it is a powerful reminder of the foundational role Black people—especially Black women—have played in building our nation, often through unseen and unrecognized labor.
This Labor Day calls us not only to honor American workers but also to confront the harsh reality of more than 300,000 Black women being systematically pushed out of the workforce.
Yet, even in the face of these barriers, the impact of Black women cannot be erased. Our wisdom, leadership, and sacrifice and trailblazing contributions continue to shape lives in our communities and the WORLD in countless ways.
This Labor Day, we honor all workers—and we especially uplift Black women, whose labor, seen and unseen, continues to sustain and inspire us all.
