“This place is my heaven,” Becca Worple, who has spent summer vacation in Ontario’s Georgian Bay every year of her life, told us. “Every day is unpredictable and magical.” Summers are warm and clear, but the winds, she pointed out, can change at any time. Change came for Becca and her partner, Doug, several years ago, when they grabbed onto the rare opportunity to acquire a three-acre chunk of rock with two aging cottages and a two-story boathouse. The necessary renovations were certainly daunting, but good fortune connected Becca with the architects who would provide the solutions. “It was a sort of wrong number,” explained architect Michael Meredith of mmmosarchitects. “She was calling for a Martin Miller or something, with a name similar to mine.” But...
