Well folks, it’s hard to believe but another wildflower season in Crested Butte is drawing to a close. For our final #wildflowerwednesday of the season, we’re highlighting a true icon of late summer, fireweed! Known for its ability to thrive in disturbed soils after wildfires, this vibrant bloom can produce up to 80,000 seeds per plant. For many, fireweed marks the bittersweet sign that summer is winding down. Want to see some fireweed in bloom at CBMR? While they may be nearing the end of their prime, you can still find them in patches all over the resort, so choose your favorite trail and keep an eye out for these vibrant, pink flowers!
