This morning we’d like to take a moment to express our gratitude to Jake Burton Carpenter for laying the foundation of today’s snowboard (and freeski) culture and for shaping our sport and our community into the rich and diverse snowsliding practices of today. From first stepping onto a bindingless snow surfer in the early 1970’s to his last days with us here on earth, Jake maintained a laser focus on creating the best possible experience of riding and experiencing the mountains and natural world.
