Today is International Self Care Day. And today, we remember the radiant life of poet and activist Andrea Gibson (they/them), who taught us how to care — for ourselves, for each other, and for a world still learning how to hold our softness. Andrea once wrote: “When nothing softens the grief, may grief soften me.” A reminder that even in our heaviest moments, there is power in choosing tenderness. Andrea lived a life of bold truth, gentle resistance, and expansive love for the queer and trans community. They showed us that caring for ourselves, even in sickness, is not a luxury — it’s a form of advocacy. It’s a form of survival. It’s protest. It’s poetry. Today, we honor Andrea by resting, grieving, feeling, and tending to our own hearts. You are worthy of care. Always. If you need someone to talk to, our counselors are here 24/7/365. You are never alone 🧡 #LGBTQ #MentalHealth #AndreaGibson #TheTrevorProject
