His legacy lives on in every LGBTQ+ young person who chooses to stay. To breathe. To speak. To survive. But make no mistake: queer and trans youth today are still under attack. From book bans to anti-trans legislation and the epidemic of silence around LGBTQ+ youth mental health. The fight that Milk fought in the 1970s is far from over. Harvey Milk once said, “Hope will never be silent.” With that in mind, let us shout louder. Advocate harder. Love more fiercely.
