🍍🍌 MOF has clarified that fruits and agricultural produce locally grown in Malaysia are exempted from Sales Tax. The recent expansion of the Sales and Services Tax (SST) is levied on goods manufactured locally and imported goods. That means imported tropical fruits like bananas, pineapples and rambutans are subjected to SST. Did you know? Malaysia imports RM73.9 million worth of bananas as of 2024, according to data from OEC.
