Black Friday is the year’s most wasteful weekend Last year, almost 200 million Americans made purchases this weekend—throwing away 80% of items within just one year. By highlighting limited time sales and deals, events like Black Friday feed into cycles of overconsumption and capitalism, encouraging people to buy items in a frenzy that they usually end up returning or throwing away. Instead of offering a limited-time sale, this Black Friday, we’re offering our first-ever SUAY BLACKOUT collection—a limited edition release of our best upcycled apparel, vintage, and home goods, all overdyed in black. 10% of all proceeds earned this weekend will go towards supporting National Bail Out, an organization dedicated to supporting Black moms and caregivers across the US. Our event runs all day, from 10am-5pm at our store in the arts district, so stop by if you’re looking to do some good this Black Friday. #losangeles #sustainablefashion #upcycle #recycledclothing #blackfriday
