HUMAN POWERED RECYCLING. The resources it takes to create textiles, the systematic abuse of garment workers, the dumping of waste in other communities is contributing to the climate + social justice crisis we are all in. Chemical and Mechanical recycling hasn’t caught up with the mess we have on our on hands, and more so, even if/when it does isn’t most likely putting the human side of skilled cleanup to the front. We must advocate for skilled manual laborers. We must use, when we can, what already exists. Put pressure on brands to use their millions and billions towards systems that are regenerative, and demand that includes LABOR + visibility to how they dispose of their overage.
