🚂 This Columbus railroad station is celebrating its 130th Birthday ➡️ The Toledo & Ohio Central Railroad station opened on April 18, 1895. Over a century later, its unique pagoda-like tower still catches eyes on West Broad St. When it opened, the tracks ran at ground level beside the station. However, in the decade that followed, Broad St. became much busier, causing complications at crossings. By 1911, the tracks were elevated and the building was modified so passengers could access the trains. In 1930, service moved to Union Station on High St., and the station closed. Volunteers of America took over the space, later repairing and renovating the building after a large fire damaged the roof.
