Columbus City Hall: 1957s vs. Today 🏛️ It wasn't always on Broad St. The original site was on State St., where the Ohio Theatre stands today. In 1921, a fire tore through the building, leading city officials to choose a new location by the Civic Center and Scioto River. The building was finished in 1928, with additions in 1936 and 1949 and a round of renovations in 1986. The Christopher Columbus statue, a 1955 gift from Genoa, Italy, was removed in 2020. #columbus #history #ohiohistory
