This 130-year-old Clintonville home had very influential owners! ➡️ It was built in the 1890s for Jacob Weisheimer, who left Germany to start his flour company in Columbus. Many will know the Weisheimer name from their second mill on King Ave., built by several of his sons in 1901. Some know this as the “Teater Home”, rather than Weisheimer’s. Bob and Dorothy Teater lived here from 1965-2007, telling tales of an attic so large their children played basketball in it. Robert Teater oversaw the Ohio Department of Natural Resources and served on the Columbus City School Board for twelve years, including three as its president. Dorothy Teater, a Columbus City Council member, became the first woman elected to Franklin County Commissioner. She served in that position from 1985 to 2000. She was the Republican nominee for mayor of Columbus in 1999, running against Michael Coleman.
