Happy Birthday, Ellen Altfest! Ellen works from direct observation of life, often in a makeshift outdoor studio. Ellen’s paintings, which require months or even years to complete, are rendered with an intensity and intimacy, offering more detail than the human eye can absorb in a single glance. Ellen’s exhibition ‘Forever’, is currently on view at the Frist Art Museum.
