Much like Vincent van Gogh, Anselm Kiefer approaches landscape as a site of artistic and philosophical enquiry.
Incorporating an abundance of materials – burnt straw, dried vegetation, clay, charcoal and ash – Anselm’s landscape paintings reflect on the myths, wars, languages, memories and traumas imposed on land over time.
