On View: Marina Rheingantz ‘Mirage’ at the Musée des Beaux-Arts de Nîmes ‘Mirage’ places Marina’s contemporary landscape paintings in dialogue with works from the Musée des Beaux-Arts de Nîmes’s permanent collection. Her work expands the genre of landscape painting, with space seemingly unpopulated, time decelerated and detail momentarily preserved. Through a varied application of paint, the artist presents place as indistinguishable from atmosphere.
