#OnThisDay in 1975, construction on two iconic Toronto towers was nearing completion. Amateur photographer Harvey Naylor took a walk downtown and snapped these photos of the CN Tower and First Canadian Place. 1. A helicopter adds a piece to the antenna of the CN Tower. The observation deck of the tower has plywood boards in place of windows. March 21, 1975. Fonds 1526, File 47, item 18. 2. Cranes on top of First Canadian Place have almost completed the building. Most of the tower has window glass, but only the base has marble cladding yet. March 21, 1975. Fonds 1526, file 52, item 5 #OTD #TOHistory #TOArchitecture #TorontoArchives
