Today kicks off National Work Zone Awareness Week - a national safety campaign to draw extra attention to the people working every day to improve your highways, roadways and streets. We go orange this week in support of our road workers and in memory of the 61 WSDOT highway workers killed in a work zone incident since 1950.
Much like you, these people just want to go home to their friends, family and hobbies after their shift ends. We need your help to ensure that happens. Please slow down and pay attention in work zones, and be sure to give our crews plenty of space.
