To celebrate the upcoming launch of NISAR, Los Angeles Public Library kids posed a few questions to NASA JPL ecosystems scientist Erika Podest. The upcoming mission – a collaboration between NASA and the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) – will provide a dynamic view of Earth’s land and ice, helping prepare for and respond to disasters like earthquakes, landslides, wildfires, and volcanic eruptions. It also will provide agricultural monitoring capabilities and support monitoring of infrastructure such as dams, bridges, and roadways.
