What do amber, Bakelite, and PVA glue have in common? They’re all part of the long story of resin—one of humanity’s oldest materials and a staple in art. Once harvested from trees for incense, varnish, or glue, resins evolved into synthetic forms like acrylic, vinyl, and polyester. These innovations opened new paths for sculpture, painting, and casting. Artists today are even turning to bio-resins for sustainable practices. 🧑‍🎨 Presentation by Todd from our Outreach Team 😁 Thanks to our vendor partners at winsorandnewton for the footage 🫶🏽 Special thanks to artists enzo_prina the.ernie.studio & lanartanddesign whose work we included here 🎥 Filmed at Blick Studios in Chicago, Illinois #ArtMaterialsHistory #ResinArt #StudioTools #AcrylicResin #CastingArt
