Congrats to our events winners from the Venessa Selijeskog Classic on Saturday, and great job to all athletes that competed!! Birgen Nelson beat her own 2022 meet record of 8.88 in the 60-hurdles, crossing the line in 8.74 in the preliminaries. Danielle Miller finished second in the 60-hurdles finals with a time of 9.67. The 4×200 relay team of Miller, Nelson, Ally Rakow and Megan Geraets set a new meet record and placed first with a time of 1:46.97, while Evelyn Villalobos beat the existing meet record and placed second in the women’s 3000-meter. Wyatt Quiring had an impressive performance, winning the men’s 400-meter with a time of 50.57 to beat the existing meet record set in 2021. Tyler Smith tacked on another meet record for the Gusties, finishing the mile in 4:25.94 for fifth overall.
