In his remarks, intwari_ya_gasana , Founder & Executive Director of Our Past Initiative, honored the lives lost during the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi and paid tribute to survivors: “We are here because you are, your courage is our strength.” He reminded everyone in the room that remembrance is an active responsibility and urged parents to continue serving as the keepers of our history. He expressed gratitude to Ibuka Italia, Inganji Culture Troupe, and the Our Past team for their collective efforts in organizing this commemoration service.
