Ten years ago, we talked about a class of Pacific Bluefin on the California coast that hasn't been around in a hundred years. Here we are in present day still experiencing once in a hundred years moments on the water and it hasn't gotten old. Thankful for each sighting of these amazing predators, every one we've fooled with a fake anchovy, sardine, mackerel or flying fish and real flyers too. They are a challenging adversary as an angler and thats what makes them the Crème de la crème of our awesome and diverse SoCal saltwater fishery!
Once in a while we tie into the bigger class of fish while casting at surface feeding foamers and remind us of the power these fish have. Endothermic (maintain a higher body temp than the surrounding environment) meat missiles of efficiency and power, they test my brain power and my body.
