September is National Honey Month, and Butterfly Pavilion is kicking off the celebration by harvesting the honey from over 25 Butterfly Pavilion bee hives from across the Denver metro area this week! Honey is more than just delicious, it’s been valued for centuries as a natural antibiotic, an immune booster, and one of the few foods that never spoils. And it’s all thanks to the hardworking honey bees that make it! Honey begins as flower nectar collected by bees. Back at the hive, the nectar is passed from bee to bee, where stomach enzymes break it down and evaporation removes some of the moisture. The nectar is then stored in honeycombs, where hive warmth and fanning wings reduce the water content to around 18%. Once the honey reaches perfect consistency, it’s either enjoyed by the hive or gently harvested by our team. Thanks to our partnership with localhivehoney , we can share this fresh, locally sourced honey with you. Look for exclusive Butterfly Pavilion honey arriving in our gif...
