Two weeks ago, I ran the Leadville 100 because I’m a romantic and I’m in the most beautiful moment of life I’ve ever seized. Running 100 miles felt like the opportunity to write a sentence within the love story that is life itself. This is a sentence that I’ll remember and treasure forever, unique to itself, woven into the stories and chapters that this race, course, process, and journey has largely already written. But it’s also a sentence that will tie the threads together with what’s to come—in the future, both in and out of running, and in so much more than I could have ever comprehended as that little kid who dreamed of the Race Across The Sky or the young man who wagered it all the first time he ran.  This was my fourth straight Leadville 100.
