We knew we had to do it before we got through Oregon if we were going to have a real shot at it, so one morning, just before Jefferson Park, we awoke at 3:30 am to attempt just that. We were rewarded for our early morning shenanigans with incredible views of Mt. Jefferson, a lovely sunrise, and lots of lakes to rest at. This area was a tiny blip on a long journey, but truthfully I was blown away by its beauty.
