“Hi, I’m Makiko. Gene, Joy and I just finished delivering 36 meals to people on the streets in San Francisco. There were certainly lots of young people, lots of people with dogs, lots of people living in community with other people in their tents or newer neighbors. Those were the types of people that we saw today. It was a great experience, nice to meet eye to eye and have a short little conversation with some of these people who are our neighbors. People seemed happy to see us, some people had known A Meal With Dignity from before. People seemed grateful not only to receive the meals but to come into contact with some friendly faces.
