In a press conference outside of the U.S. Capitol Thursday, Sen. Jon Ossoff called on Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to resign from his post following the cuts to the department and to the Georgia-based Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Kennedy was in a Senate Finance Committee hearing fielding questions concerning President Donald Trump’s health agenda, including the secretary’s views on vaccines.
U.S. Sen. Raphael Warnock also called for Kennedy’s resignation and said he is a “hazard to the health of the American people” during a Senate Finance Committee meeting.
Warnock asked a series of questions about the ouster of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s director, Susan Monarez, the vaccine advisory committee and the fallout of the shooting at the CDC headquarters.
