Our young people are our future, which is why I am fighting every day to invest in our kids and their future. The last few days we toured the High Mountain Youth Project, which helps young people experiencing homelessness in Lincoln County, two Head Start programs in Mescalero and Ruidoso, and rallied with students in the Hondo Valley. Over the last two years, I have secured millions for New Mexico’s 1st Congressional District to help build Albuquerque’s first youth homeless center, secure school-based mobile healthcare units, and invest in youth development programs. I submitted project requests this year to fund three early childhood education centers in Mescalero, Ruidoso, and the Pueblo Cultural Center in Albuquerque. I helped secured over $90 million to build a new K-12 community school in partnership with the To’Hajiillee Chapter and community of the Navajo Nation.
