As we wrap up the week, and our country stands at a crossroads as the GOP drives us dangerously close to default, I want to let every New Mexican know that we are fighting for our families, our communities, and to ensure the security of our economy. This week in Washington, we stood strong in defending our communities from reckless proposals to gut social programs and environmental laws. I joined the League of Conservation Voters to push back against Republican attacks on our bedrock environmental laws through the debt limit. I advocated that #healthcareisahumanright and for #MedicareForAll and spoke out for lowering prescription drug prices and to end predatory corporate practices. I fought to defend the Clean Water Act, expand conservation of our public lands, and address climate change.
