“Herculean flightline” A usairforce C-130J Hercules, marines KC-130J Hercules and an Air Force C-130H Hercules sit on the flightline at Fort Huachuca, Ariz., March 11, 2025. The aircrews were attending the Advanced Tactics Aircrew Course hosted by the Advanced Airlift Tactics Training Center. The course involves two weeks of advanced training that spans from Missouri to Arizona. Week 1 (in St. Joseph, MO): Grad-level academics (RADAR missiles, MANPADS, combat mission planning) + 2 sorties—which include defensive maneuvers & low-level nav with A-10 close air support and airdrops with Agile Combat Employment concepts. Week 2 (in Ft. Huachuca, AZ): 6 accelerated sorties integrating with the Advanced Airlift Mobility Intelligence Course, featuring hostile environment drills, Dissimilar Air Combat Training vs an F-16, and desert/mountain ops.
